Andhra Pradesh: On Thursday, two transport department personnel were suspended after Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials to take intense action against them for forcibly snatching a taxi and evicting a family in the car.
Following the Chief Minister’s directives, one home guard, Tirupal Reddy, and an assistant motor vehicle inspector, Sandhya, were suspended on Thursday.
The two transport department officials requested a taxi driver to report to Ongole promptly on Wednesday night since the car had been allocated to the Chief Minister’s convoy during his scheduled visit to Ongole on April 22. The driver was bringing a family to Tirumala at the time.
The event was brought to light after a local newspaper claimed that a family was stuck on their trip to Tirumala after several authorities forcibly removed their cab and driver.
Actions Taken
Chief Minister Reddy was outraged by the event and demanded administrative action against the corrupt officials.
Following the Chief Minister’s directives, one home guard, Tirupal Reddy, and an assistant motor vehicle inspector, Sandhya, were suspended on Thursday.
“This type of action will not be condoned,” he stated, “particularly when individuals are in distress.”
He further ordered that the Chief Minister’s Office authorities take stern action against the involved officials and that the cars should not be taken for convoys that are causing problems for the public.
