The starry night that celebrated the film industry’s milestones, the filmmakers’ high standards, and the artists’ acting prowess has finally come to an end. Though it was difficult to get enough of what was served at the 67th Wolf777news Filmfare Awards 2022, it was also enlightening and enriching to attend an event that recognised the artistic excellence of the entertainment industry.
Ranveer Singh was named Best Actor in a Lead Role (Male) for his performance in the cricket based movie ’83,’ while Kriti Sanon was recognised for her performance in the 2021 film ‘Mimi.’
Shershaah named the Best Film.
At the 67th Filmfare Awards, ‘Shershaah‘ won yet another award. The biographical war film based on Param Vir Chakra awardee Vikram Batra, who laid down his life in the service of the nation while recapturing Indian territory from Pakistani intruders during the Kargil War in 1999, was declared the best film, with Vishnuvardhan taking home the award for best director.
The film’s music album has won the award for “Best Music Album.” Tanishk Bagchi, B Praak, Jaani, Jasleen Royal, Javed-Mohsin, and Vikrant Montrose received recognition for their contributions to the film’s music. The film’s soundtrack includes some of the most popular Hindi songs of the year 2021, including ‘Raataan Lambiyaan,’ ‘Mann Bhareya,’ ‘Ranjha,’ ‘Kabhii Tumhhe,’ and ‘Jai Hind Ki Senaa.’ Asees Kaur also won Best Playback Singer – Female at the 67th Filmfare Awards for the song ‘Raataan Lambiyan.’ B Praak also won the award in the ‘Best Playback Singer – Male’ category.
Sardar Udham, starring Vicky Kaushal, wins big.
‘Sardar Udham,’ starring Vicky Kaushal, won numerous awards. In the critics’ poll, Kaushal won best actor (Critic’s choice) for his outstanding performance in the film. Sardar Udham, a biopic of freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India, in 1940 to avenge the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre, was also named the best film by critics.
Mansi Mehta and Dmitrii Malich, on the other hand, won the first award for the film in the category of ‘Best Production Design.’ Following that, Veera Kapur, the film’s costume designer, was honoured in the category of ‘Best Costume Designs.’ Avik Mukhopadhyay was awarded for for the film’s cinematography in the ‘Best Cinematography’ category, followed by Shantanu Moitra, who received the award for the film’s background score in the ‘Best Background Score’ category. Sardar Udham also received the award for best screenplay.
Subhash Ghai Receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Veteran Bollywood director and producer Subhash Ghai received the Lifetime Achievement award at the 67th Filmfare Awards. Subhash Ghai is well-known for his films such as ‘Karz,’ ‘Pardes,’ ‘Vishwanath,’ ‘Saudagar,’ ‘Khalnayak,’ and many more.
The director was recognised for his lifetime contributions to Indian cinema. He is regarded as one of the best directors in Hindi cinema. The music in Subhash Ghai’s films has been the main selling point.
Aside from that, Vidya Balan was named best actress (Critic’s choice) for Sherni, and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was named best original story. Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar were named the best supporting actors for Laxman Utekar’s Mimi.
Ehan Bhatt won the Best Debut Male award for his film 99 songs and the Best Debut Female award was given to Sharwari Wagh for Bunty Aur Babli 2. The award for the best choreography was won by the song Chaka Chak from Atrangi Re by Vijay Ganguly.
