“ You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength ”
~ Marcus Aurelius
Welcome to the place where you can get the epitome of knowledge about the way little practices and habits can change a person’s personality and lifestyle.
Habits, to understand are very easy habits are our daily routines of us out of which task or activity does one do regularly like preferring stairs over elevators.
Inculcating these little daily rituals happens when the formation of our daily routines starts, routines are not formed by practicing them for a few days. It takes 21 days to form a habit but is this really true?
Habit formation depends upon how we behave or react in order to a particular catalyst like drinking coffee every day to start our day, look into these habits closely and you will find a deep reason which needs to get fixed naturally rather than using an external force.
We are the product of our past experiences, environment, and social connectivities. Due to the response/ reaction, we gave to a particular situation that felt calming and safe to us, if encountered frequently we adopt them in our behavior.
Such behaviors which have a different meaning attached to them are more difficult to let go of either healthy or unhealthy habits should have a reason attached to them.
People have habits related to physical health, it is something that is promoted more than mental health habits.
The reason underlying this is very simple: Physical health can be observed outwardly. As society’s body image scanner if one has gained weight it marks one as unhealthy.
Alternatives like physical exercise have places like gyms, gymnastics, yoga centers, and other activities which are socially performed by most likely everyone.
Just like physical health and mental health isn’t observable in most cases, the Mind just like the body is an essential part of each of us. It deserves equal amounts of care.
It is possible there are not many options available for maintaining mental health as this was something that was from the start given very less priority in our society.
Our parents and social surroundings taught us to run, stay fit, and eat healthily but no one taught us how to take care of one’s minds. Head filled with thoughts, heavy feelings in the chest, and mind not being in our control is something we hear more often.
This is the reality, we have ignored mental health so much over the years that now it is difficult for us to be free, loving, and accepting of ourselves no matter what.
Our minds get conditioned in a certain way where even thinking of investigating mental health is considered a waste of time.
The Truth is mental health is equally important as physical health if both aren’t prioritized one may feel stuck somewhere.
