A little boy Named Andres Valencia has stormed the whole internet with his mesmerising 6-figure bona fide artworks
Andres Valencia’s 6-figure artwork
The 10-year-old Andres Valencia, whose bona fide artworks were purchased by wealthy collectors like Tommy Mottola and Jessica Goldman Srebnick at Art Basel Miami Beach, has gone from a relative unknown to a genuine art phenomenon, as reported by the New York Times.
Valencia had a solo exhibition in June at the Chase Contemporary gallery in SoHo. According to the gallery, all 35 works sold for $50,000 to $125,000.
At a Phillips de Pury auction in Hong Kong, one of his paintings sold for $159,000 before fees, and another sold for $230,000 at a charity gala in Capri, Italy.
When the gallery was closed, Andres Valencia and his mother, Elsa Valencia, a jewellery designer who is 48 years old, gave the publication a tour.
The publication praised the talented artist for being extremely mature for his age and named Pokémon, Picasso’s “Guernica,” Jean-Michel Basquiat, George Condo, and Click N’ Play army action figures as sources of inspiration.
Standing proudly on the sidelines, gallery owner Bernie Chase stated, “I’ve been in the art business for 20 years.” I’ve collaborated with Kenny Scharf and Peter Beard. Andres has the potential to grow to that size, or even larger.
Andres Valencia, on the other hand, is ten years old. Even though the young artist is already a big deal on his own, his mother and husband Lupe Valencia want the world to know that their son is first and foremost a fifth-grade student with homework.
The source claims that when he was 4 years old, his parents noticed that he was sketching a painting by the graffiti artist Retna, one of his father’s former clients, in their San Diego dining room.
He began selling watercolours for $20 to friends and family members as his artistic self-assurance quickly increased. Mr Chase was one of them, and he offered to pay $100 each time he went to San Diego to visit the Valencias. The young artist raised his price to $5,000 after demonstrating that he was equally adept at selling.
The publication claims that Mr Chase purchased sufficient artwork to persuade the Valencia family to allow their son to “share his talents with the world.”
To present the young artist, he contacted Nick Korniloff, director of Art Miami, a fair that runs concurrently with Art Basel.
At the moment, Valencia’s fan base continues to grow, and his artwork continues to attract attention. One of his pieces, a portrait in the Cubist style, was shared by V, a member of BTS, and seen by the pop singer’s 50 million Instagram followers.
Talk about a child prodigy who gets ahead of the curve like “little Picasso” and makes a lot of money doing it.
The miniature Picasso can only go up from here and Andres is all set to flourish his career with these proceedings.
