Hero Homes:
Over 10,000 voters, along with 4,000 residents of ‘Hero Homes’, representing the various castes and varieties of Indian society, pooled 3,129 liters of organic and diya-appropriate oils to form this distinctive image of peace and unity. Hero Homes had organized the event at its premises, and could also be a residential unit of Hero Holding Non-public Limited, the vital estate arm of Hero Enterprise.
Themed around the competition of peace, the huge diya was lit within the presence of an official jury of the Guinness Book of World Records, who was present at the society at Mohali.
He said that, as per the Guinness Book of Records, this diya has been lit with 3,000 liters of oil and qualifies as the world’s largest diya ever lit. Lt. Information Singh said, “This is an unconventional event combining the dual intent of celebrating Diwali as per tradition and unfolding a crucial social message.”
He said it’s appropriate that a geographical area that was in the past seen is currently the placement of the largest icon of peace. Lt Information Singh further said, “If you cross-check diya, it’s a medium to spread light, awareness, data, and knowledge concerning peace.”
Ashish Kaul, CMO of Hero Realty, the creator of the world’s largest kerosene lamp, said, “I have had my roots in Kashmir.” For the last 32–33 years, I have always been searching for a peaceful way to return home.
That’s my journey, that’s the journey of each individual like me who needs dignity, and it can’t be reconditioned unless you’ve got peace. “So, on behalf of me as an individual , it has always been a continuous search for peace and after I thought Diwali was round the corner, what better occasion to transmit a message of peace other than this? “
“We have seen most of the bloodshed in Kashmir. We already had a tendency to see the war in Ukraine. Thus, I assumed that the true message of Diwali was a celebration of peace and that it was the largest competition for peace. So, this humble diya is the most important source of inspiration for international peace”.
“I just wanted to have the biggest image of peace within the world, for the entire world to grasp that if the least bit, there’s one thing that we’d like, first and foremost, it’s peace, which makes everything else meaningful, starting from this country,” said Kaul.
He also said, “The oil for the Diya collected from several people, regardless of regions, languages, religions, and different cultural creeds, represents the united resolve for peace and spirit of Indians.”
