PM Modi reaches Kargil after celebrating the joyous Bhakti Divas in Ayodhya. This year he is going to celebrate his Diwali with our brave soldiers.
PM Modi continues his annual tradition of celebrating Diwali with our brave soldiers when he reaches Kargil on October 24.Â
Since 2014, after becoming Prime Minister, Narendra Modi celebrates a day before Diwali in Bhakti by visiting holy places in the nation, and on the occasion of Diwali, he celebrates at different military facilities.
PM Modi was in Ayodhya the previous day to attend Deepotsav and performed pooja and darshan of Lord Ram. On October 24, he landed in Kargil to celebrate Diwali. He visits remote border areas to motivate our soldiers as they are away from their homes on Diwali in the line of duty.Â
While addressing the armed forces in Kargil on Diwali, PM Narendra Modi said, “India has always viewed war as the last resort, but the armed forces have the strength and strategies to give an incontrovertible reply to anyone who casts an evil eye on the nation.”
PM Modi also recalled his visit to this border region in the aftermath of the Kargil conflict in 1999, when the Army “crushed the hood of terror”.
There has not been a single war with Pakistan where Kargil has not flown the victory flag, PM Modi said, adding that Diwali symbolized the “celebration of the end of terror.”Â
Further, he said, I have witnessed the Kargil war closely. It was my duty that brought me to Kargil back then. There are many memories of that time when the sounds of victory reverberated all around us.Â
In Kargil, our armed forces crushed the hood of terror and people still remember the Diwali that was celebrated back then, PM Modi said.
PM Modi stated that over the last eight years, the government has worked to reform the armed forces by deploying new technologies, developing border infrastructure, and opening up positions for women in the forces. The induction of women into the armed forces will boost our strength.
He said the nation is safe when its border is secure, the economy is strong, and society is full of confidence.Â
PM Modi said India has been dealing with its enemies, both internal and external, with force, and India has never viewed war as the first option. We have always seen war as the last resort. We are in favor of global peace, but that cannot be achieved without strength.
Our armed forces have the strategies as well as the strength. If anyone dares cast an evil eye on us, our armed forces (three armed forces) know very well how to give an incontrovertible reply, he addedÂ
After that, he also talked about Aatmanirbhar Bharat, which is most important to the nation’s security, and how the country’s dependence should be minimal on foreign weapons and systems.
