List of the Bollywood celebs who wished Rishi Sunak
Amitabh Bachchan, Chiranjeevi, Raveena Tandon, and Vivek Agnihotri have responded to Rishi Sunak being the first prime minister of Britain of Indian descent.
Indians are ecstatic after hearing the fact that Rishi Raj Sunak has been elected as Britain’s first prime minister of Indian descent. On social media, a plethora of Bollywood stars responded to the news and supported him. Amitabh Bachchan and Chiranjeevi backed him, and Neetu Kapoor felt a strange connection with him.
On her Instagram Stories, Neetu posted a picture of Rishi Raj Sunak alongside the caption, “Rishi Raj Sunak’ getting cheap thrills with the name.” The next British prime minister shares the same name as Neetu’s late actor spouse Rishi Kapoor. His father was the renowned actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. So, the name has ‘Rishi’ as well as ‘Raj’ , name of her late husband and her father-in-law respectively.
Moving further to another celeb, Raveena Tandon responded to the news on Twitter. In response to a tweet from ANI, she remarked, “Diwali seems to be special this year ! #IndiaVsPak2022 #rishisunak so be it good for everyone .. may you all achieve what you all set out for, May all your dreams come true.”
Taking over to his Instagram, even Bollywood Big B Amitabh Bachchan posted a cool shot of himself sporting a hoodie and a black tracksuit. In the caption, Bachchan wrote, ” Jai Bharat… now the UK finally has a new viceroy as its Prime Minister from the Mother Country.”
The famous filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri extended his best wishes to Sunak on Twitter and calls this appointment of Rishi Sunak of UK’s Prime Minister as Civilisational Justice. Along with terming this series of events, Agnihotri congratulated the first ever Hindu Prime Minister of Britain.
Chiranjeevi also backed Rishi’s victory as UK’s Prime Minister and was happy as expected from his statement and adding more to his statement, Chiranjeevi said who would have thought that this could ever happen as India is celebrating 75 years of Independence from Britishers and fortunately, Britain gets an Indian origin Hindu Prime Minister.
What brought Sunak here?
Rishi Sunak was chosen without opposition to lead the Conservative Party after Truss resigned amid yet another government crisis. Truss made some promises to the citizens of the country that could never be fulfilled even practically which led to the failure of that government. The economy broke down. And eventually, Truss resigned from the position. After that elections were held within a week time and the result was declared.Â
Rishi Sunak, at the age of 42, is expected to become the first prime minister of Indian descent and the country’s youngest head of state in modern times after winning the contest to lead the Conservative Party.
Sunak completed his education at Winchester and subsequently at Oxford. He worked for Goldman Sachs Group Inc. for three years before pursuing an MBA at Stanford University in California, where he also met his wife, Akshata Murthy. Sunak is the son of a pharmacist mother and a doctor father.Â
