4 Out Of 5 Families In Delhi Facing Severe Ailment Issues

Delhi’s air pollution has been getting worsened day by day and has increased severe ailment issues. The air quality of Delhi still falls under the category of “severe”. The category of “severe” is given to Delhi for 3rd time in a row. Recently, the government of Delhi has shut down schools for kids. The government has also instructed the schools to take classes online unless further instructions are given to the schools.

As Delhi still fall under the category of “severe” for the 3rd time in a row, the Central Pollution Control Board Data and the Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi say that Delhi’s overall Air Quality Index is standing at 408, until 9:30 am as of November 3.

As of November 3, the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) along with the Delhi government has imposed strict restrictions on the people of Delhi. The government has banned the entry of 4-wheeled diesel vehicles and light motor vehicles in the city limits as well as the areas surrounding/ adjoining the NCR region Delhi. The ban is in favor of the anti-pollution measures that are under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

In the survey conducted by LocalCircles, it was found that 4 out of 5 family members are suffering from ailments caused due to pollution. Nearly 18% of the family members had to consult a doctor (or a hospital) due to issues related to pollution.

The survey was conducted among the residents of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad. In the survey conducted in all of these areas of Delhi, it was found that there is a rise of nearly 70 to 80% of people suffering from pollution-related ailments. This result came right after Diwali.

Bursting crackers during Diwali were listed as one of the major reasons for the high amount of pollution in Delhi. Therefore, crackers too were banned from the national capital Delhi.

According to the sources, after Diwali, 70% of the families started complaining of pollution-related ailments.

If the lungs are exposed to any infection, pneumonia, etc then the person can be more immune to the ailments and the situation might get complicated.
