1. Crisp History
A lot of people say that Kashmir is one of the most beautiful places in the world. They say if there is heaven on Earth it is in Kashmir, but its beauty sometimes attracts unwanted elements from enemy countries towards Kashmir. They invaded this pious land to rule the Kashmiri Awam but our Security Forces Shattered their dreams and sent them to the place where they belong.
The Issue of Kashmir is as long as the creation of Pakistan when Jinnah demanded a separate Country for the Muslim Majority of people. At that time current Governor General Lord Mountbatten offered princely states either to merge with India or Pakistan or to remain Independent. At that time Raja Hari Singh tried to negotiate with India and Pakistan to have an Independent status for his state. Since the majority of the population of the state was Muslim, Pakistan thought that Kashmir belonged to them due to its ethnicity .
On August 15 Raja Harisingh offered to sign a Standstill Agreement with both the countries for free movement of goods and people. Pakistan signed that agreement but India didn’t, this made Pakistan irritated and they started violating the agreement through various means.
The war was initially fought between J&K Police and tribal militants of the North-Western province. As the pressure increased Raja Harisingh demanded help from India, But India could only send her troops only after the state signed a formal Instrument of accession. On 26 October Maharaja signed the instrument of accession-rectified in 1954.
Despite its advantageous position India accepted the UN resolution on ceasefire and agreed to a Plebiscite in Kashmir under 2 conditions: –
1. Pakistan should withdraw its forces from the state of J&K (POK).
2. Authority of the Srinagar administration should be restored over the whole state.

2. Kashmir Issue Now a Political agenda for Pakistan’s Government
In Pakistan, the political parties use Kashmir Issue in their political agenda to gain the support of their Aawam, they make false promises to their citizens by collecting heavy taxes from them in the name of development and infrastructure and use this money to fund the terrorist to fight liberation war in Kashmir but in reality, Pakistan fought 3 major wars with India in 1947-48, 1965 and 1971 respectively and an Armed Conflict in Kargil (1999) and after a brutal defeat he realizes that it cannot defeat India in the Conventional Warfare, so they keep trying different-different methods in order to achieve its agenda.
Pakistan’s Modus Operandi shifted gears from Conventional to Non- Conventional Warfare, they use different techniques to bring Chaos in India’s North West province like Radicalisation of people, Converting Sangbaaz into militants, Hiring of Hybrid Terrorists, etc.
Some of the famous start-ups of terrorists founded and funded by Pakistan are:-
1. Jaish-e-Mohammed
2. Lashkar-e-Taiba
3. Haqqani Network etc.
These organizations use Islamic Ideologies like Wahhabism and Deobandi to misinterpret and convert the youth of Kashmir into militants starting from stone pelting(Sangbaaz) against India’s security forces. They target the local poor families in Kashmir and their youth to create resistance in security forces operations and administrative work in Kashmir.
3. India’s counter, Current situation, and the Way Forward
After the Curious case of Burhan Wani India’s security forces and government work on a multi-pronged approach to deal with terrorist activities in Kashmir, their primary targets are to stop illegal foreign funding from enemy countries, run awareness programs in Kashmir Like Operation Maa under which they convert Sangbaaz into normal youth with help of their mother so that they come back to their families and no mother will be without her children and no child will be without her mother without being killed and live a new normal life. Operation All-out was also launched by our security forces in 2017 until there is complete peace in the state.
The major change came in Kashmir when Article 370 was abrogated on 5th August of 2019 experts believe that this will welcome a major change in the valley and will also give a massive punch to the jaw of the Pakistani government and their terrorist organizations. Many Schools, Colleges, Research Centres, Malls, and Hospitals are soon to be constructed in Kashmir this will bring a massive change in the Aawam of Kashmiris. Army General K.J.S. Dhillon Sir in his recent interview said that Kashmir is now changing, and people now have changed their agenda from free Kashmir to Infrastructural development. After all, they also want a good education, better healthcare facilities, and good jobs in their areas. Their Faith in India’s security forces has also increased now with their support, terrorist activities in Kashmir are decreasing abruptly, and hopefully, in the coming future Kashmir will become a terrorist-free state or might be the next start-up hub like Bengaluru. Recently many Gulf countries are showing interest in investment and FDI in the valley which will empower the Kashmiri youth, also a lot of free campaigns by the Indian Army and Government of India for providing guidance to aspirants for NEET, JEE, UPSC, Defence Examinations, etc. are being given so that they don’t have to worry about the problems of opportunity. Various schemes by the central government such as the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP) for J&K-2015, the Allocation of two AIIMS, IITs, IIMs also Bharat Mala Project, Power sector projects, Swachh Bharat Mission and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Project UDAAN, Project ‘Umeed’ for the empowerment of women, Project ‘Himayat’ for capacity building and employment of youth, ‘Bharat Darshan’ programs, etc. have been inaugurated and implemented for the betterment of the people.
