On a day-long visit to poll-bound UP, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a swipe at the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party. He is saying that when they were in coalition with the Congress government at the Centre. Neither party gave constitutional recognition to the Backward Classes Commission.
On the contrary, the Narendra Modi government fulfilled a long-standing desire.
“During the Congress’ administration, OBCs were not discriminated against in medical and engineering admissions. In the examination, there were no reservations. BJP pioneered OBC reservations, and hundreds of students have become doctors and engineers as a result.
For years, the SP and BSP have backed Congress. In the Lok Sabha, former PM Rajiv Gandhi gave a speech on the OBC reservation. That continued for more than an hour and a half. “Shah addressed the audience here.
Shah also praised Kalyan Singh, the state’s previous chief minister, who was given the Padma Vibhushan on the 73rd Republic Day this year. He said he left with a smile on his face for the cause of the Ram Temple’s building.
“On Republic Day, PM Modi presented former CM Kalyan Singh with the Padma Vibhushan honor. For the first time in UP, he had begun the administration of a mafia-free government. For the first time, I watched someone on TV quitting with a grin on his face. Indicating that the chief minister’s seat might be sacrificed 100 times if the Ram Temple is built.
Politicians Say
We have honored that person (Kalyan Singh) “he stated. Shah slammed Akhilesh Yadav for his opposition to the GST raids that were carried out on Kanpur-based businessman Peeyush Jain later last year. Is he saying that if the SP president is not going to use the money obtained from Jain, then why is he criticizing governance issues?
“By taking properties worth more than Rs 2000 crore from land mafias under the Gangster Act. PM Modi has supplied houses, medical colleges, and toilets to the underprivileged. When the GST or Income Tax Department conducts raids, they (the Samajwadi Party) face challenges.
They claim that we are working politics when the bundles of notes are discovered in charges. Akhilesh Yadav, why are you afraid? What’s your relationship with them like? “He expressed himself.
The raids are being carried out to influence the election. Tell the state’s people if you intend to run for office with the money you got from the charges. What effect it will have on the election if a man’s black money was recovered?
This is because you intended to utilize that money to run for office. The Modi government is currently in power at the Centre. Those who avoid taxes would face severe consequences, “Shah continued.
Shah’s public appearances are essential since Uttar Pradesh’s 403 Assembly seats will be contested in seven stages beginning February 10.
- The Uttar Pradesh elections will be placed in three phases:
- the second phase on February 14.
- the third phase on February 20.
- the fourth phase on February 23.
- the fifth phase on February 27.
- the sixth phase on March 3.
- the seventh and final phase on March 7.
The ballots are to be counted on March 10.
When was BJP Government formed?
After independence, the BJP, sometimes known as the English Indian People’s Party. It is a pro-Hindu political party in India. The party has a large following among the upper castes and in northern India. It has made efforts to win lower-caste support, including appointing some lower-caste members to key party positions.
Origin and establishment
Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) was founded in 1951 by Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. As the political wing of the pro-Hindu organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS; “National Volunteers Corps”). The BJS campaigned for the reconstruction of India in conformity with Hindu culture. The establishment of a robust and unified state.
In 1967, the BJS established a significant presence in northern India’s Hindi-speaking regions. After 10 years, the party, led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, merged with 3 other political organizations to establish the Janata Party and assumed power.
The government, however, was toppled in July 1979 due to factionalism and internal strife. The BJP was formed in 1980 due to a break in the Janata alliance caused by dissidents. They wished to prevent elected BJS officials from joining the RSS.
(Critics of the RSS have long accused it of political and religious radicalism, for instance, the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi by one of its members.) The BJS later restructured as the BJP, led by Vajpayee, Lal Krishan Advani, and Murali Manohar Joshi.
The BJP promoted Hindutva (“Hindu-ness”). This ideology defined Indian culture in Hindu values. It was critical of the Indian National Congress‘s secular policies and practices (Congress Party).
History
The BJP first gained electoral traction in 1989. When it exploited anti-Muslim sentiment by pushing for the construction of a Hindu temple in an area of Ayodhya. They are considered sacred by Hindus but inhabited by the Babri Masjid (Mosque of Babur).
By 1991, the BJP had significantly expanded its electoral popularity, winning 117 seats in the Lok Sabha (India’s lower parliament). BJP gaining control of four states.
The destruction of the Babri Masjid by organizations linked to the BJP in December 1992 sparked an intense backlash against the party. The mosque’s collapse sparked rioting across the country, killing over 1,000 people. The BJP’s leaders organized a series of rath yatras (“journeys on the carriage”) or political marches.
The Hindu god Rama was symbolically used as the emblem of cultural revival to assuage public concern, restore faith in the party, and extend its base. Many secularists in contemporary India viewed the party with mistrust and suspicion.
Electoral victory and the government of the National Democratic Alliance
After winning the most seats in the Lok Sabha in the 1996 elections, India’s president invited the BJP to form a government. However, it only lasted a few months in government since it couldn’t assemble the 545-member lower house’s needed majority to rule.
With Vajpayee as PM, the BJP and its partners built a majority government in 1998. That year in May, nuclear weapons tests ordered by Vajpayee received massive worldwide censure. Vajpayee was forced to seek a vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha. When alliance partner All India Dravidian Progressive Federation (All India Anna Dravidian Munnetra Kazagham) withdrew its support after 13 months in office.
