PM Modi on Monday made a withering attack on Congress, and he said the opposition party is still enjoying the blind opposition even after failing to secure the people’s mandate for about a decade.
He added that BJP is a firm believer in democracy and believes that criticism is a crucial part of democracy.
He mentioned a few of the achievements on his part. He also said his ambitions regarding playing a global leadership role.
PM hit hard on Congress and also accused them of spreading panic during the covid lockdown. He also added that Congress misused covid for political gains. And pushed migrants into chaos and misery.
He punned regarding making Congress mind for not coming to power for the coming 100 years.
Rajya Sabha proceedings were on Monday adjourned for an hour after paying homage to legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu read out an obituary reference after which MPs stood as a mark of respect to the memory of the departed. He adjourned the proceedings for an hour thereafter. The iconic singer passed away on Sunday in Mumbai.
PM Modi had hailed President Kovind’s address to Parliament, saying it talked about India’s developmental strides and reflected the collective vision of 130 crore Indians to take the nation to newer heights in the times to come.
The debate on the motion of thanks for his address began on February 2, with both the houses allotting 12 hours for it in the first half of the Budget session. It opened with BJP MP Harish Dwivedi claiming 4.5 lakh youths were given jobs and ₹36,000 crore worth of farmer loans waived in the last five years in Uttar Pradesh under the Yogi Adityanath government. He also slammed the previous governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh for only providing lip services rather than actually working for the welfare of the poor and backward classes.
