To educate young people on the newest industrial technologies, Tata Technologies, a division of Tata Motor, opened 22 industry-4.0 training centres across Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
The Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, Tata Technologies MD & CEO Warren Harris, and numerous other State politicians were present as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin officially opened the technological hubs at a ceremony in Oragadam, Chennai. Tata Technologies works with the worldwide industrial sectors to develop new products, outsource engineering-related services, and offer IT services.
Details of the Collaboration With Tata Technologies
According to the CM’s speech at the event’s opening, this effort would enable youth and underprivileged students in the state to receive training at a reasonable cost and prepare them to fulfill industry requirements.
Twenty-two technological facilities underwent upgrades in the initial phase at a cost of Rs 762.30 crore, and an estimated Rs 2,877.43 crore will be spent on upgrading the ITIs.
According to Tata Technologies, these technology centers would serve as industrial and technological hubs for MSMEs in addition to meeting the sophisticated skill needs of students.
The technological centers would support strengthening one’s skills through extensive training in sophisticated manufacturing, industry automation, electromechanical electric vehicles, digital verification, and other topics.
Tamil Nadu’s Unique Topography
The Chief Minister noted that in addition to financial services, banking, insurance, and service companies, Tamil Nadu is a leader in a number of industries, including the production of automobiles, electronic parts, Information and Communication Technology related businesses, leather and footwear, and e-vehicles.Â
He noted that the state is also at the cutting edge of developing businesses and has made significant progress in several other sectors, including the manufacturing of semiconductors, medical equipment, processing of food, and agricultural products.
The Chairman of the Tata Group stated that India is in a highly advantageous position because expertise is required for the advancement of artificial intelligence while reiterating the importance of Tamil Nadu’s populace in leading this revolution.
Chief Minister Stalin’s Address to the People
The State realized an investment of Rs 2.03 lakh crore through Guidance Tamil Nadu, and roughly 110 memorandums of Associations were signed, according to the Chief Minister. Through the MoUs, close to 1, 96,596 employment opportunities were created. The construction of new manufacturing sectors in Tamil Nadu was made possible by the availability of infrastructure as well as human assets within the State.
The CM disclosed that the government of the state was working to establish 71 government ITIs as Scientific Centres at the expense of Rs 2,877 crore to render the Tamil Nadu youth suitable for employment in line with the advancements in technology. He claimed that his dream “Naan Muthalvan” initiative would satisfy the labor needs of forthcoming industries.
Stalin hailed the agreement with Tata to expand governmental ITIs as an essential turning point in the growth of ITIs in the state, noting that the Thursday-launched effort would result in an annual increase of 5,140 students being admitted to government ITIs. Ten thousand forty pupils would receive training in Industry 4.0 developing sector standards each year, preparing them for employment in top domestic and international companies. This would be a significant step in the government’s efforts to reach its goal of having a US$1 trillion economy by 2030.
