If you are thinking of buying an electric vehicle, this is good news for you. The Government of India is making charging stations to promote electric cars. First of all, these stations have been built in cities with more than 40 lakhs.
In the last four months, the Ministry of Power has reported that 2.5 times the charging stations have been made in nine major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai.
1,640 electric vehicle charging stations built in the country
The Ministry of Power has said that 1,640 electric vehicle charging stations have been built in India. These charging stations have been constructed in about 940 cities. At the same time, about 940 stations have been made in 9 major cities (Surat, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai) with a population of more than 40 lakhs.
Oil selling companies will make 22 thousand charging stations
The government will enhance the vehicle charging station infrastructure by involving government and private companies Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC).
Many private organizations have also come forward to build charging stations. Along with this, companies selling oil have announced to produce 22 thousand charging stations. Ten thousand Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), 7 thousand Bharat Petroleum, and 5 thousand Hindustan Petroleum will be made.
