The government is planning to introduce new technology for coal mines. The government has released a road map for this, in which it has told that it will promote digital infrastructure by implementing new technology in coal mining.
Through this, the coal mining activity can be appropriately tracked. The capacity to conduct mining projects will increase, which will boost coal mining in the present and future.
This will reduce dependence on other countries for coal.
After implementing new technology, a unique ecosystem (start-up, research institute) will be accessible. Coal India Limited (CIL) will have to produce one billion tonnes to reduce dependence on imports.
The new technology will focus on environmental protection, the safety of mine workers, and opportunities for women.
New Technology: The demand for coal will increase now
Energy consumption in the country has increased by 700% in the last four decades. Due to this, the demand for coal has increased.
This increasing demand is the growing economy, increasing population, and improving the quality of life.
Energy sources other than coal have limited potential, so our dependence on coal will be more in the next few years.
