At Paris Couture Week 2024, Rahul Mishra from India recently debuted his newest fall 2024 collection.
Designers unveiled spectacular outfits that combined fashion, embroidery, and art on Day 1 of the Paris fashion show.
Rahul Mishra, an Indian designer who is starting to appear regularly during Couture Week, was one of the creators. Mishra has had a huge year in terms of fashion.
He presented his Haute Couture creations in January in Paris, where the collection that was Cosmos-inspired quickly went viral. In March, during the NMACC launch event in Mumbai, he was arguably the most well-liked pick to grace the red carpet.
In Paris, he wowed the runway once more with his opulent collection. In his couture exhibition, “We, the People,” he demonstrated authentic Indian craftsmanship, and this was evident in his work.
The theme of the collection was “We, The People.” The craftspeople are a part of the “ethical community” that Mishra created and to which he committed his artifacts.
The designer combined culture and fashion on the runway by bringing a stunning Indian lehenga with embroidery, beads, and handwork to close the show. A genuine masterpiece that honors craftsmanship and diversity with fine details.
This collection, which was mainly about delicate beads and lovely designs, had icons like the Bengal tiger and the lotus flower.
The Zendaya sari, which the Hollywood actress wore to the NMACC opening ceremony, made its premiere in the Fall/Winter 2024–24 collection as well. Rahul Mishra’s Haute collection featured a noticeable desi touch in everything from lehengas to sarees to ornate gowns and dresses.
Rahul Mishra
Rahul Mishra is an Indian fashion designer renowned for his deft handiwork and environmentally friendly approach to clothing. He is an Indian native who attended the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi and is from the state of Uttar Pradesh. Mishra became the first Indian designer to win the International Woolmark Prize in 2014, which helped her earn prominence on a global scale.
Traditional Indian textiles and techniques are frequently used in Mishra’s creations, displaying a fusion of modern and age-old aesthetics. His dedication to maintaining traditional workmanship is reflected in his use of exquisite hand embroidery, elaborate decorations, and detailed detailing in his unique design.
Along with emphasizing workmanship, Mishra is committed to advancing sustainability in the apparel sector. He places a strong emphasis on moral behavior, fair commerce, and production methods that respect the environment. He has taken a leading role in campaigns helping craftsmen and advancing eco-friendly fashion in India.
The work they do, according to Rahul Mishra, belongs to everyone who helped make the collection possible. We The People was the name he gave it because, as he said, it was a collective dream, even though he was aware that it would sound similar to the Constitution. The craftsmen’s handiwork, including their embroidery, was influenced by both nature and daily life. The artwork included indications of aware life, such as a little figure of an artist peeping from a motif or a woman sewing clothing.
Through these painstaking details in the collection, the designer demonstrated the remarkable skills of the craftsmen and craftspeople. Rahul Mishra also expressed his pride in the fact that the craftsmen were going back to their native Indian villages to found new communities of artisans and preserve traditional crafts after spending years training people from slums and densely populated sub-factory setups in big cities.
