Amid Ukraine-Russia Crisis, President Vladimir Putin has ordered military action, after which several explosions are being heard in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
Ukraine-Russia Crisis
The sound of the explosion was heard in Kremtorsk and Ukraine’s third-largest city, Odessa. At the same time, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said in a statement that Russia has completely attacked Ukraine, and now the time has come to respond.
Dmytro Kuleba said that Putin has just launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The peaceful cities of Ukraine are under attack.
He said that this is a war of aggression on which Ukraine will defend itself as well as win. He further said that the world could stop Putin if it wants, and such a step should also be taken. Dmytro Kuleba finally said that now was the time to act.
Putin said – Ukraine is not occupied.
Putin said that anyone who tries to interfere with us or pose a threat to our people should know that Russia’s response will be immediate and will lead you to the consequences that you have seen in your history.
I have never experienced it before. He further said that our plans (of a special military operation) in Ukraine do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territory.
Putin declared war, saying Russia’s goal was not to annex Ukraine. Putin said Ukraine’s “regime” was responsible for the bloodshed. Putin warned other countries that any attempt to interfere in Russian action
“will have consequences they have never seen before”.
On the other hand, US President Joe Biden condemned the unprovoked and unwarranted attack on Ukraine and resolved that the world would hold Russia accountable for it.
Meanwhile, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has urged Russian President Vladimir Putin not to send troops to Ukraine and to resolve the issue peacefully.
In an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council convened late Wednesday, Guterres said the whole day was filled with rumors and fears that an offensive against Ukraine was imminent.
Guterres said that he had never before believed the rumors that Ukraine would be invaded by Russia and was always assured that nothing sinister would happen.
“I was wrong and I don’t want to make a mistake again,”
he said. So if there is indeed a campaign being prepared, all I want to say wholeheartedly is to stop your troops from attacking Ukraine. Resolve issues calmly. Many people have already lost their lives.
