The ongoing political turmoil in Maharashtra reflects the childish power games played by parties vying for positions. As citizens of India, we should prioritize national development over attacking individuals.

In the State of Maharastra, a “game” fuelled by the recent NCP split between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar joining the BJP, rumours mills start spinning yarn of a possible change in Chief Ministerial position from Eknath Shinde to Ajit Pawar.
This was a statement made by a former Senior Congressman who gagged the news portal with his “predictions” probably to create, a flutter and “draw attention”. https://www.timesnownews.com/india/ajit-pawar-will-be-next-maharashtra-cm-congress-leaders-big-claim-sparks-buzz-article-102085353
“Wild speculations”
“The BJP now has an alternative in Ajit Pawar,” was the former chief minister’s comment.
The utterance was misplaced, recapitulated that BJP top-brass have taken a decision to replace the chief minister as it could not cope with the low numbers compared to Ajit Pawar can draw at the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Mr Chavan was contemplating the situation with the reporters, “However, the hanging sword of disqualification, especially amid the recent Supreme Court intervention, has resulted in uncertainty about Shinde’s fate,”
Adding to the above statement, “In the current scenario, even the assembly speaker may find it difficult to keep the CM issue hanging till the general election. If Shinde and other 15 MLAs are disqualified, he could lose his chair.”
Political “turbulence”
As the speculation started to culminate, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis sought to cull the information with a quick rebuttal saying Ajit Pawar knew he was conscious of the decision that he won’t make it to the CM’s post, and the above was passed on to him during the discussions held before July 2nd.
Prithviraj Chavan conveyed, to a regional news channel on Monday, that a resolution has been taken to disbar CM Shinde and 15 other MLAs of the Shiv Sena party on August 10th.
“After deciding the disqualification of Shinde and other MLAs, incumbent Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar would be anointed as the Chief Minister around August 10”, a presumption made by Mr Chavan.
It is believed that Chavan also indicated that BJP is not yearning to compete with Shinde as they might feel the mastery he prefaces is only in Thane which is his area of origin. https://www.hindustantimes.com/cities/mumbai-news/speculation-rises-in-mumbai-as-chief-minister-s-visit-to-delhi-sparks-rumors-of-change-in-leadership-101690053654209.html
Defacing the Prime Minister
He completely lost his stance when he openly criticised the Prime Minister for his “use and throw” policy, “This is the fate of Shinde. The understanding of top BJP leadership indicates they want to make Ajit Pawar the chief minister and face elections,” he censured.
“The BJP now has an alternative in Ajit Pawar. This is the fate of Shinde. The understanding of top BJP leadership indicates they want to make Ajit Pawar the chief minister and face elections,” he claimed.
The”Fadnavis effect” and “predictions”
Fadnavis as a quick rejoinder appended “As a leader of the single largest party (BJP) in ‘Mahayuti’ (grand alliance), I am officially telling you that Ajit Pawar will not become the chief minister of Maharashtra”.
And added that “ Prithviraj Chavan is doing kite flying. These days there are many who are making political predictions. But all these are not based on reality. The opposition is indulging in such act to create confusion among people but it will not work.”
“When meetings of ‘Mahayuti’ took place (before the July 2 induction of the NCP faction in the government), Ajit Pawar was given a clear picture that he would not get the post of chief minister,” He just solely stated the council members may expand.
“He (Ajit) not only agreed to it but also made it clear in his speech that there is no discussion on changing the guard in Maharashtra,” he also made Ajit Pawar’s stand clear. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAor0cvgSvQ
Fadnavis cold-shouldered Chavan’s “predictions” “They should stop confusing people about ‘Mahayuti’. Leaders are not confused but party workers do get perplexed. People like Prithviraj Chavan are spreading rumours. If something is going to happen by August 10, it would be the expansion of the state Cabinet. The CM will take a call on it,”
The recent shift in political climate brought Ajit Pawar and his 8 MLAs to the BJP “fortress” when he, on July 2nd took oath as Deputy Chief Minister with key portfolios like Finance being lauded on him. The MLAs were given ministerial positions as well and Sharad Pawar professed that the above incident constituted no threat to him.
The “Eknath” Equation
Eknath and Shiv Sena camp saw the entrance of Ajit Pawar and were thought to have been “rattled” and yarn started to increase the medium of pace when they saw Shinde frequenting Delhi in a week. Ajit Pawar’s supporters started holding out placards and banners prophesizing the 64 as a CM candidate on his birthday.
“It is natural for any party to wish their leader become the chief minister. NCP workers may feel Ajit Pawar should become the CM. Nothing wrong in it… In the same way, our workers may feel some one from BJP should be CM. The Shiv Sena already has its CM in Eknath Shinde… Shinde has been chosen for the coveted post and he will continue as CM.”
From Indian Express
Reinstating the Fadnavis expressed the clarity shared by Ajit Pawar and the other leaders as well and also showed solidarity,
“There is no ambiguity among the leaders. When the alliance was formed, Ajit Pawar was appraised about all the aspects. And he accepted them. Deputy CM Ajit Pawar has also made it clear that there was no reason for any change of CM.” https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/mumbai/eknath-shinde-cm-leaders-mahayuti-devendra-fadnavis-8858037/
“Calming the waters”
“To those who are making such statements, I would say stop it and don’t create any confusion among the cadre. The leaders of all three alliance partners know everything and there is no confusion. The party workers also should avoid any confusion.” https://tdznkwjt9mxt6p1p8657.cleaver.live/ajit-pawars-defection-in-maharashtra-ncp-in-tumult/
Fadvanis nudged the individuals starting rumour mills to cease the unnecessary spreading of false information with no proper foundation.
The visit could have been a cordial communication with the Prime Minister and Ajit Pawar would have “expressed” his “ambition” of heading the State someday.
Speculations, mostly anti-government have also arisen that Shinde has become a “liability” and a large amount of commiserate wave has suddenly arisen for Uddhav Thackery.
The idea that BJP was desisting Shinde’s company from bringing in Ajit Pawar with a view to combating the upcoming elections was a “much-assumed notion”. https://tdznkwjt9mxt6p1p8657.cleaver.live/ncp-crisis-ajit-pawar-made-deputy-cm/
The ever-neutral in his statement asserted the fluidity of the seat in power, “The Chief Minister’s post could be of interest to any party, not just the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Shiv Sena’s Chief Minister is in power now. The BJP might want its own Chief Minister, and the NCP’s supporters might wish for Ajit Pawar to become the Chief Minister. There is nothing wrong with this perspective. However, it should be noted that there will not be any change in the Chief Minister’s position. Eknath Shinde is the Chief Minister, and he will continue to be so.” https://tdznkwjt9mxt6p1p8657.cleaver.live/sharad-pawar-meets-ajit-faction-members-in-mumbai/
Ajit Pawar achievements
Known as “Dada” with love and fondness, an idol of eminence he defied his uncle Sharad Pawar to stay and fight for the spirit of democracy, stronghold and political aspirations.
The icon started his entry-level learning in the 1980s with the guidance of his uncle winning the Baramati election in 1991- terming him a “kingmaker” for his uncle’s opening up the portfolio of a defence minister in Narasimha Rao’s Government.
The fire was stoked in 2009 when he openly brazenly denounced his uncle’s leadership and organising resolution style. For one, the ever-changing dynamic politics in the state government calls for careful watch over the upcoming expectations under BJP leadership. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/videos/news/maharashtra-dy-cm-ajit-pawar-devendra-fadnavis-meets-cm-shinde-at-his-official-residence/videoshow/101661609.cms
