The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is an international organization that looks to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy globally. The UN nuclear watchdog’s 35-nation Board of Governors will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday about Ukraine, IAEA said in a statement. Canada and Poland are board members of IAEA, approached to call a meeting at the request of Ukraine, which is not a board member of IAEA, said diplomats.Â
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are trying to hold the Russians at bay on the outskirts of the capital Kyiv. Ukraine also claimed that Ukraine had “derailed” Moscow’s plan to overthrow him.
