Apple announced on Wednesday that it will be finally hosting its annual spring launch event on March 8th this year. According to previous rumours, Apple is expected to likely reveal the third edition to the iPhone SE line, along with a revamped iPad Air and new Mac products. Tech enthusiasts also speculated whether the company would unveil Apple’s next-generation M2 chip that has been hinted to be in the works for a long time.
A sneak peek of the event was released a few days ago by Apple’s senior vice president of Marketing, Greg Joswiak in a tweet, it looks like the latest launch event will revolve around the theme of ‘Peak Performance’.
Now, there’s a lot of excitement online about whether Apple will stay true to the legacy of the iPhone SE line, by giving extremely good specs on an affordable fan favourite. The SE range had put Apple’s stamp in the mid-range market, and become one of the most popular options for buyers in that sector.
The iPhone SE 2022 will come with 5G support, and several reports stated that it might come with an improved camera system, but there wasn’t much detail on what type of processor the smartphone would use. It’s rumoured to come with either the A14 or A15 chip. The iPhone SE 5G will also be the latest upgrade since the last two years for the series.
Apple is also expected to reveal an all-new and improved iPad Air with a much faster processor. The first iPad Air made its debut in 2020, the term ‘Air’ was picked up from the MacBook range and the iPad range carries similar design choices and supports physical touch ID built into the power button as well but Apple is expected to bring 5G connectivity to the device, which means using the A15 Bionic chip on board. Another edition to the Mac series is being anticipated by users although people also suspect it could be a new Mac Mini.
The software company will stream its launch event online, on Apple’s event website and the company’s YouTube page at 10 AM IST from its home in Apple Park, its headquarters in Cupertino, California.
