Ranging from the colossal Telgi scam, which ran into hundreds of crores, to the infamous Commonwealth Games scandal, these are the tales of India's most significant financial frauds in recent history. 

HARSHAD MEHTA (1992) : Popularly known as the Big Bull, Harshad Mehta took advantages of the loopholes in the banking system and triggered a rise in the Bombay Stock Exchange .He and his associates diverted funds to the tune of about Rs 5,000 crore (Rs 50 billion) from the banks to stockbroker  

TELGI (2003) : Abdul Karim Telgi , The con artist, who shook the entire nation with his mastered art of forgery in printing duplicate stamp papers. The scam spanned across 12 states and estimated to the amount of 20,000 crore plus .  

SATYAM SCAM (2009) : Ramalinga Raju is accused of fudging the books of accounts for several years and inflating revenues and profit figures of Satyam .

2G SPECTRUM (2008) : he scandal revolves around the alleged irregularities in allotting wireless radio spectrum and licences by the telecom ministry to private operators — some of whom were ineligible 

COMMONWEALTH GAMES (2010) : Estimated to be involving money worth close to 35,000 crore, the scam included discrepancies  and misappropriation of funds .former chairman of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, Suresh Kalmadi, was charged 

COALGATE SCAM (2012) : It came into reckoning in 2012 after the then Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) raised allegations against the government for allocation of coal blocks to public and private enterprises 

VIJAY MALYA (2016) : he took heavy loans from various banks but was not paying it back. Many banks declared him bankrupt and did not provide further loans but he continued to take it from different banks using his influential position . Another unethical practice done by his airlines was that they were not paying any PF and salaries to their employees and taxes to the government. 

NIRAV MODI (2018) : The Punjab National Bank scam relates to fraudulent letter of undertaking worth Rs 10,000 crore issued by the bank .
