One of the two Jaish militants killed in the Pulwama battle was identified as JeM commander Kamaal Bhai alias Jatt by the IGP Kashmir.
Srinagar, March 12: In three different gunfights across the Kashmir valley on Saturday, police claimed to have killed four terrorists linked with Jaish and Lashkar organisations, including a foreign Jaish commander.
According to authorities, a fifth militant was apprehended following a shootout. Two JeM terrorists were killed in an overnight shootout in the Chewaklan area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama, according to police officials quoting IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
Several LeT militants were killed in gunfights in the early hours of Saturday morning in the search region of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal, Nechama, and the Rajwar area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara, police said.
Old Scars
In a separate statement, IGP Kashmir named one of the two Jaish militants slain in the Pulwama encounter as JeM commander Kamaal Bhai alias Jatt. According to the IGP, Jatt has been active in the Pulwama-Shopian area since 2018 and has been “engaged in multiple terror activities and civilian atrocities.”
According to a police official, the three clashes erupted after police and security forces conducted coordinated operations at four to five locations across the valley last night.
Moving tight with the situation, some of the facts are going to be penned down. As per the sources, covert policing around the area is necessary and the outcome of the same seems to fall under the right bag.
Several joint operations are underway so that more information can be retrieved and all these efforts count towards the peace in the valley. Reporting officials ensure that things may get a little nasty in the near future, but we are ready for any challenge.
