On Wednesday, 23rd March 2022, founder of All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee said, in response to the lashing slams over the incident, that tomorrow she would visit the massacre struck Rampurhat village in Birbhum district, West Bengal. CM Banerjee said that the opposition parties, the BJP, Congress and CPI(M) are using the situation to defame the state government and TMC but they cannot break Bengal using this.
Furthermore, she added that these kinds of incidents have happened in states like Rajasthan and Gujarat too but that she is not justifying the incident in Rampurhat. She uttered, “the incident is ‘unfortunate’ and we will take action on this incident in a fair manner.
The government is ours; we are concerned about our people in the state and we never want anyone in our state to suffer.” She, in her message, also said that the Officer in Charge and Sub-Divisional Police Officer have been immediately dismissed soon after the incident.
Accusing the opposition, Mamata Banerjee said that the opposition are not able to create an uproar. They are not able to say anything about development and that is why the opposition is trying to hype the case. They give only Bhashan (lecture) and not ration for their people.
