Byju’s is the world’s leading edtech company. Today, it announced that Majid Yazdani has been appointed as the new Vice President at Byju’s Lab to shape the future of education. Majid will be working on AI applications and personalization in the education sector.
Majid will be responsible for incubating and implementing new ideas. He would be expected to deliver breakthrough solutions across Byju’s ecosystem of learning products at Byju’s Lab. Majid will be operating from England.
A team of research scientists will be set up. They would work on innovation and powerful learning tools for students.
Byju’s Lab, which was launched in 2021, has a goal to be an incubator of new creative ideas, with cutting-edge technologies and provide breakthrough solutions across Byju’s ecosystem of learning products.
Students are placed at the center of the innovation hub, striving to design and develop impactful learning experiences by integrating technologies like augmented reality, AI, computer vision capabilities, gamification, and much more.
Byju’s is a global company with sustained growth and international expansion. Byju’s is now attempting to tap further into the global talent pool by actively recruiting a wide range of applicants in America, England and India.
The Chief Innovation and Learning Officer of Byju’s, Dev Roy said that Byju’s is excited about having Majid on board. They hope to scale up Byju’s Lab by harnessing the global pool of highly-skilled technical talent.

Majid has more than 15 years of experience in AI and technology. He graduated from Sharif University of Technology in 2008 with a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering. He also earned his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in June 2013.
He has previously worked as a staff scientist at LinkedIn and the Idiap Research Institute in Switzerland. Later, he joined Facebook AI (Meta AI) in 2018 and joined the project to construct neural networks with compartmentalized knowledge and reasoning.
He has also contributed significantly to FB’s customer support using large-scale generative language models. He also holds three patents and has 24 research papers in the fields of natural language processing and artificial intelligence.
