England have not only won with a massive margin; it has also just moved to six points on the points table. They now have a better net run rate than India and are at a well earned position at the fourth place.
England comes one step ahead in their hope to secure the semi-final spot in the Women’s Cricket World Cup. England defeats Pakistan by nine wickets and they are all set to fight their way through. England gives an all-well performance as they crush Pakistan by 9 wickets to keep their head in the game on Thursday.
England bowled first and bundled out Pakistan for a nice score of 105 runs in 43.1 overs. England, then, chased the target with the speed of the light. It has 184 balls to spare when England finished the match. It was quite a commendable spirit they had in the field on Thursday.
The Game Rolls in for England
Choosing to bowl first, Katherine Brunt (3/17) was the opening bowler. Along with her, the left arm-spinner Sophie Ecclestone (3/18) led England’s brilliant display with the ball at the Hagley Oval. Opener Danni Wyatt top-scored with an unbeaten 68-ball 76 while captain Heather Knight remained not out on 24 off 36 balls.

Brunt proved to be not good for Pakistan as he removed Nahida Khan in the very first ball of the match. Pakistan was at none for one, and it soon became 11 for two when skipper Bismah Maroof was run out while going for a needless second run.
Pakistan found themselves in dire straits, all thanks to another horrible run out, when the ball caught the stumps of Omaima Sohail off a Tammy Beaumont direct hit in the 14th over with the score reading 33 runs for 3 wickets. Brunt, then, had Nida Dar confused in front of the stumps giving her a leg-by wicket at 53 runs or four wickets.
The batter opted for a review but it straight away went in England’s favour. Pakistan was able to add only five more runs before the set Sidra Ameen (32), the innings’ top-scorer, played a fast Brunt delivery on to the stumps. Wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz made 23 runs. After her, Ecclestone wrapped up the Pakistan innings. England was able to seal the game in their favour in only 19.2 overs.
