RCB and KKR faced off on Wednesday in the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Knights set up a 129 run chase which RCB succeeded to achieve in 19.2 overs losing 7 wickets.Â
For T20 match 6, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challangers Bangalore met at the Dr D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai at 7.30 pm IST on Wednesday. In what turned out to be a low scoring yet exciting match, team RCB secured their first win by 3 wickets. RCB had lost to Punjab Kings(PBKS) in the last match. Â
Faf du Plessis, Captain of Royal Challangers Bangalore had won the toss and opt to bowl. Their impressive bowling attack stopped the Knights at a mere 128 runs for the fall of 10 wickets at the end of 18.5 overs. Â
KKR’s batting
KKR batters scored 128 runs at the end of 18.5 overs after the fall of 10 wickets. None of the players could make a big impact on the scorecard. The openers, Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer got 9runs and 10 runs respectively while the team Captain, Shreyas Iyer got caught out after scoring 13 runs.
Rahane’s out accounted for Md. Siraj’s lone wicket in the match. All rounder, Andre Russell made the most runs for KKR which is 25 runs out of 18 balls. 10th wicket Umesh Yadav made 18 runs in 12 balls in partnership with Varun Chakravarthy (10 runs in 16 balls) dragging the total to 128.Â
Wanindu Hasaranga formed a deadly attack against the Knight batters snatching up 4 wickets at the cost of 20 runs in 4 overs. Hasaranga also pocketed the opponent Captain, Shreyas Iyer’s wicket. Akash Deep took 3 wickets(45 runs) by bowling for 3.5 overs. Harshal Patel also bowled impressively for his team for 4 overs taking 2 wickets for 11 runs.Â
KKR set the chase for a mere 129 runs in 20 overs for RCB. In contrast to KKR’s batting performance, the Knight bowling attack turned out to be much more competent in the match. Â

Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav and Sunil Narine together gave the Challangers a difficult time via their bowling. The Knight bowlers managed to drag the match to the last over in spite of the low target.Â
RCB lost 3 wickets early in their innings. Anuj Rawat got out for a duck in Umesh Yadav’s over. At 17 runs, both Captain Faf du Plessis and former Captain Virat Kohli lost their wickets to Tim Southee and Umesh Yadav’s bowling respectively. Wicket-keeper Sheldon Jackson took both the catches.
Sherfane Rutherford scored 28 runs out of 40 balls becoming the highest scorer of the team. Shahbaz Ahmed scored 27 out of 20 balls. Sheldon Jackson stumped Shahbaz in Varun Chakravarthy’s over.
After the fall of seven wickets, Hasaranga being the seventh one, Dinesh Karthik and Harshal Patel took to crease and finished the match in RCB’s favour. Harshal Patel made 10 runs playing 6 balls and Karthik made 14 runs in 7 balls. Karthik finished off the match in style hitting 6 and 4 runs in two consecutive balls in the 20th over of the match. Â
Tim Southee took 3 wickets in 4 overs for 20 runs. Umesh Yadav bowled for 4 overs(16runs) taking 2 wickets. Sunil Narine also got a single wicket bowling 4 overs for 12 runs. Andre Russell’s bowling of 2.2 overs and 36 runs turned out to be most expensive.  RCB won by 3 wickets with 4 balls left.Â
