Via Surrogacy Priyanka Chopra and her husband, musician Nick Jonas, welcomed a beautiful baby daughter. In a post on January 22, Nick Jonas and Priyanka both announced the child’s birth. While the couple has yet to formally share their daughter’s name, TMZ has received a copy of the child’s birth certificate, which lists her name as Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.
While it’s unclear why the couple chose the name Malti (although it could be related to Priyanka’s mother’s name), the Sanskrit meaning of the term is “small fragrant blossom” or “moonlight.”
While conversing with her friend and chat show host, Lilly Singh, Priyanka opened up about being a parent. She stated that she would never push or impose her dreams and beliefs on her daughter.
On Sunday, the pair celebrated their first Easter as new parents.
In an Instagram post, the Baywatch actress shared a series of photos of her and Jonas soaking up the sun for the spring holiday dressed for the occasion, with Chopra wearing a bright yellow ensemble and Jonas donning a patterned short-sleeve top.
The couple posed outside a scenic garden, cuddling close in two photos while standing in front of an arch made of greenery with oversized Easter bunny ears on top of it. Other pictures, snapped while they sat at a table outside, documented their festive beverages and desserts (including a carrot cake cupcake decorated with bunny ears).
“Happy Easter from us,” Chopra captioned the post.
