Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, AAP national leader, asked Gujaratis to “defeat the arrogance of the BJP” by voting AAP in their first public rally since forming office in Punjab. He accused the BJP of “setting a new world record for paper leaks” at Gujarat’s “derelict schools and hospitals.”
Collaboration with BTP
On Sunday morning, during a tribal gathering in Chanderia village, Valia taluka, Bharuch district, the party announced its alliance with Chhotubhai Vasava’s Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP).
Kejriwal spoke on behalf of Gopal Italia, Indranil Rajyaguru, Isudan Gadhvi, and BTP supremo Chhotubhai’s son and party president Mahesh Vasava. “First Punjab, now Gujarat… The BJP believes Gujarat would join AAP if we wait until December. Only God’s help and others’ help can save me from my fakkad state (poor joyous man). So, call early elections and I’ll beat you in six months.” said the AAP Leader.
BJP’s mismanagement
“I met a BJP politician on aircraft, I questioned him why they didn’t work in Gujarat for 27 years,” Kejriwal told the primarily tribal crowd from Bharuch and Narmada districts. He remarked, ‘why labour when people will vote for us anyway?’ He said the Congress leaders here are in the BJP’s pocket and don’t need to fight elections… Tell Gujarat voters… Give us one opportunity to defy their hubris and then you may kick us out…”, he continued.
“I have heard that the Guinness Book of Records authorities held a meeting yesterday and they are planning to add the BJP’s name to the list of highest document leaks… This list includes a Class 7 paper leak,” he added.
Kejriwal noted that the AAP government improved the fortunes of Delhi’s government schools, with 4 lakh pupils enrolled this academic year. “The BJP administration has closed 6,000 government schools in the pretext of mergers. Government schools are decrepit… no teachers or one teacher for eight classes… AAP can help… Delhi schools have obtained 99.7% results this year – the best in the country,” he said.
“The BJP started disseminating viral messaging claiming Kejriwal’s schools are in a run-down condition… We want Bhupendra Patel to visit our schools, hospitals, and clinics… Prior to disseminating falsehoods, gather facts.” He further added, “Delhi loves me… I’ve heard Gujaratis are emotional and think with their emotions… If a Gujarati loves someone, they love them forever. Similarly, Kejriwal… I came here to build a heart friendship. I am an educated guy who can only work,” he continued.
On tribal issue
“First the British exploited tribals, then our own people persecuted them,” Kejriwal remarked of the “injustice” they endured. That “two of the country’s wealthiest individuals are Gujaratis, and that the poorest tribals are from Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Aravalli, and Dang. The BJP and the Congress support the affluent and enrich them… But the AAP, Kejriwal, and Chhotubhai are with you.”
AAP’s reputation is tarnished by the BJP, yet electricity is free in Delhi. How does Delhi obtain free power? Because “Delhi’s administration is clean…”
He went on to say, “Isn’t it an insult to 6.5 crore Gujaratis that the BJP needs a leader from Maharashtra to rule the state? The voters must retaliate… I am appealing to the respectable leaders of Congress to join AAP… Come over to AAP, BJP leaders… Those with stakes, please stay put.”
On his way to the event, the CM of Delhi was welcomed with cries of Bharat Mata ki Jai. As part of his on-dais felicitation, he garlanded a statue of Birsa Munda and wore a tribal jacket and scarf.
“What is the need to re-elect a government that has wiped out education from the state?” Chhotubhai Vasava questioned in his remarks. “Keep voting AAP. The BJP and the Congress want to erase tribal identity… We can only survive if we receive power… Arvindji has committed to look at our list of 14 major topics.” He added, “Despite dozens of dams that displaced tribal inhabitants, the tribal belt from Ambaji to Umargaon does not get a single drop of drinkable water… It should happen in Gujarat as well. The BJP has controlled for 27 years, and we are all hurt…”
