On June 5, 2020, a controversial statement was given by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal on the prophet Muhammad, an FIR was filed against both of them on june 7, 2022.

On a Sunday tv debate, Nupur Sharma made a remark on the prophet Muhammad and after the statement, they were removed from the party. Though both Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal have given an apology statement in their remarks, the opposition parties are constantly targeting BJP.
At the international level also many countries like Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, UAE, and 14 other Islamic countries are also showing their anger against India. They have demanded an apology from India but the foreign ministry has already given then answers to these countries.
A case is filed against Nupur Sharma and summoned her to be present in the court on 27th June 2020. Countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar have appreciated the actions taken by the government against them but are also angry. UAE ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation released a statement saying “Denunciation and rejection of insults of the prophet”.
This means, that human values and moral principles must be respected and no religion should be disrespected.
Boycotting Indian Products.
An online campaign that started on Twitter and Facebook after the remarks of Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal # boycott Indian products. In the prophet’s remarks, India is given a threat of having suicide blasts in the country. Islamic countries like Kuwait have already removed the daily needed Indian products like rice, spices, etc.
The Indian government constantly gives replies to these Islamic as well as other countries who all are commenting on this issue and said, they respect every religion and strongly oppose the insult of any religion and religious personality.
