Netflix’s Number 1 show Squid Game is set to become a reality show. Netflix is now accepting registrations from around the globe.
Squid Game’s second season has been in the talks for a while now and we get another surprising news from Netflix. Yes, you heard it right, Netflix is turning this dangerous and mind-boggling show into a reality show. The show will be known as Squid Game: The Challenge.
Similar to the show, 456 genuine participants will compete for a life-changing prize of $4.56 million in the game with the most extensive cast and lump sum cash prize in reality TV history. Their strategies, relationships, and character will be tested as they participate in a series of games inspired by the original programme – plus some shocking new elements – while competitors are removed around them. The odds are enormous, and the worst outcome is returning to their homes empty-handed.
On the 14th of June, Netflix announced the registrations for the applicants are open who are willing to join the show via a short video on YouTube.
Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series said “Squid Game took the world by storm with Director Hwang’s captivating story and iconic imagery. We’re grateful for his support as we turn the fictional world into reality in this massive competition and social experiment,” He further adds “Fans of the drama series are in for a fascinating and unpredictable journey as our 456 real-world contestants navigate the biggest competition series ever, full of tension and twists, with the biggest ever cash prize at the end.”

What are the Requirements?
The recruitments will be based on three castings UK casting, US casting and Global casting. the terms and conditions are not too complex. The minimum age requirement of the applicant is 21. The applicant must be available to participate in the programme for up to four weeks, which is set to begin in early 2024 however the dates may change and there is no surety of dates as of now.
If selected, one should have a valid passport for the duration of filming and the right to and ability to go to all destinations as indicated by the show officials. You must not be employed or engaged by any company within the All3 Media Group and/or Netflix. Lastly, you must not be related to an employee or worker for any company within the All3 Media Group and/or Netflix.
If you fulfil these requirements, later on, you will be given a form for registration and the process will be completed.
Do you have what it takes?
Well, 4.56 million sounds too good to be true right, either way, it is true. Getting onto a reality show, with a whopper cash prize doesn’t seem too bad right? however, we don’t know what will be the consequences for the participants if they lose. Will it be deadly? are the stakes too enormous? we may not know it yet, all we can do is wait for the reality show to be released. While we wait for the reality show we may also get to enjoy season 2 of Squid Game.
