The place always has a changing climate and it is difficult to farm the same products efficiently.
Now that the Uttarakhand Climate Responsive Rain-fed Farming Project has been accepted, the government will provide modern farming technology to the 9 hill districts in Uttarakhand.
Villagers will be provided with new and modern technology for agriculture.
This helps the villagers to have multiple options in the way of farming or different product to farm as it is difficult to farm.
The climate in Uttarakhand is ever-changing and farmers have been struggling with it for years. Many villagers migrate to farm from another place as their village is difficult to farm in.
The difficulty that the villagers face is different in many ways like some villagers claim that animals near their farm are destroying their crops, water in their village is not enough, and many more issues.
The government has said that they know that it is getting more and more difficult to farm in Uttarakhand. The changing climate is difficult in itself but now that the mountain is heating up it is getting more difficult.
Under the project, World Bank has sanctioned 1000 crore for the cause.
Uttarakhand Morden Farming :
Uttarakhand is famous for its millet, pulses, and rice. Even in the hilly areas, people have started complaining that the variation in temperature during day and night is huge. That variation is not good for crop agriculture.
This has forced people to change their way of farming in the hilly areas. The water-intensive crop is getting less water and farmers need to shift to the areas where the water is sufficient or change the crop they produce.
Uttarakhand Climate Responsive Rain-fed Farming project will handle all the issues related to the water issue problem and solve them by providing villagers with modern farming technology.
