According to the IMD, heavy rainfall has been recorded in different districts of Karnataka. Many schools and colleges have declared a holiday for the students.
Due to heavy rain on Thursday, schools and colleges were shut in different parts of Karnataka.
The officials had already declared a holiday in different cities of Karnataka, i.e., Udupi, Kodagu, Hassan, and the place called Uttar Karnataka for the Anganwadi schools and colleges.
It will be shut and a “Red Alert” in different parts of Karnataka has already been issued by the weather department.
Because of the continuous rain, the commissioner of other places, such as Udupi, declared a holiday for Anganwadi students, and many tourists and fishermen were advised not to travel or roam around the water and sea regions.
According to the Indian meteorological department, this time the state has seen heavy rainfall of around 205.5mm for these four cities in Karnataka state.
The strong winds and continuous rain also happened, which has caused landslides and injured many. The officials have given advice on taking necessary precautions.
In the coastal regions, damage has also been caused to houses along with the landslides in different parts of Karnataka, especially in Kundapur and Maravanthe beaches in the Udupi district of Karnataka.
Roads have bad conditions. Due to rain, there is water logging in several places. The traffic has been disturbed due to the rain. The pitholes are filled with water, which is very dangerous for people to drive their vehicles through.
Different states like Mumbai, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Telangana and different states of the country are also facing the same situation of rainfall and will be facing this problem further too for the next two to three days.
Rainfall is expected in states such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and others, according to the Indian Meteorological Department.
