Akhilesh Yadav didn’t invite Shivpal Singh Yadav and Om Prakash Rajbhar to a meeting for the upcoming presidential elections.
Akhilesh Yadav chief of the Samajwadi Party didn’t invite his own uncle Shivpal Yadav and ally Om Prakash Rajbhar to a meeting for upcoming presidential elections with a joint opposition, Yashwant Sinha.
On Saturday, Shivpal Singh Yadav uncle of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced that he supports Droupadi Murmu who is the BJP-led NDA presidential candidate.
Shivpal Singh Yadav took this decision after he and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar, a key ally of the Samajwadi Party, went to dinner last night at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hosted for Droupadi Murmu.
Shivpal Yadav tells, Why alliances are taking different routes?
While talking to reporters, news agency ANI quoted him as saying, “Neither Samajwadi Party called me, nor asked for my vote. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath invited me yesterday where I met NDA’s Presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu and decided to vote for her,”
Amid growing discontent in the opposition camp in Uttar Pradesh, Shivpal Yadav slammed Akhilesh Yadav and said he didn’t invite him to party meetings because of his “immaturity” and his actions are the reason why several alliances of the parties have now taken separate routes.
Shivpal added “If Akhilesh Yadav took my suggestions seriously, the condition of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh would be completely different. Several alliances of Samajwadi Party are now leaving them and the reason is the political immaturity of the party chief.”
Om Prakash says Akhilesh is nothing without his father
Om Prakash Rajbhar yesterday said that “he is still with the party but if Akhilesh Yadav doesn’t want it. He will not remain together forcefully,” this statement is just hours before the dinner at the chief minister’s house.
Mr Rajbhar also said that he will make a decision on the presidential poll on his own.
The reason behind these statements, the bitterness in the relationship started when Akhilesh Yadav invited neither Shivpal Yadav nor Om Prakash Rajbhar to a meeting, on Thursday.
The meeting was held for the upcoming presidential elections with their opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha.
Shivpal Yadav is currently an MLA from Jaswant Nagar and he leads Pragatishil Samajwadi Party-Lohia. He was contesting on the symbol of the Samajwadi Party and won the seat.
He was known as the second most powerful minister in Akhilesh Yadav’s 2012-2017 government in UP. He formed his own party in 2018 after getting separated from his nephew’s party but patched UP after the 2022 assembly polls.
Om Prakash Rajbhar’s party has six MLAs in the state assembly. Last month, Mr Rajbhar slammed Akhilesh Yadav after the party lost Lok Sabha by-polls in Uttar Pradesh to the ruling BJP.
Mr Rajbhar asked Akhilesh Yadav “Can he point out one election he has won on his own?” he added that he became Chief Minister in 2012 just because of his father Mulayam Singh Yadav’s “largesse”.
According to sources, Raghuraj Pratap Singh chief of Jansatta Dal Loktantrik also known as Raja Bhaiya, and Uma Shankar Singh, MLA of the lone Bahujan Samajwadi Party were also present at Chief Minister’s residence for the dinner.
