Prime Minister Modi urged its citizens to make India into a developed nation in the next 25 years and within our lifetime. It’s a big resolution and we all must work for it together, he said.
Addressing India’s 75 years of Independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15, Monday said that India aims to become a developed nation within 25 years i.e. @100. This year India is celebrating 75 years of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Speaking from Red Fort as part of public redressal, he also congratulated his country’s people on completing 75 years of Independence. The year is also observed by the entire country as “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
He also said that India had already completed its abstruse 75 years and now it is relishing its ‘Amrit Kaal’. Also adding that the next 25 years are crucial for the country’s Independence.
“It is a day to step towards a new direction with a new resolve. No matter how difficult the 75 years have been, today we are in the ‘Amrit Kaal’. The next 25 years are important in all aspects, including the development of culture and traditions,” he said.
He also gave an emphasis and revealed future plans @100 of the country. He said, “We must turn India into a developed country in the next 25 years, in our lifetime”. Also adding that it’s a big resolution and we all must work for it together.
India’s road to becoming a “Developed Nation”
India is the world’s sixth-largest economy and its growth is increasing at a tremendous rate. By March 2024, it’s expected that India will grow over seven percent which is comparatively faster than the other major economies.
Presently, India is categorized as a ‘lower middle economy’ by the World Bank with gross national income per capita between $1,086 and $4,255, as per reports by Reuters.
Developed nations such as the United States, have a per capita GNP of $13,205 or higher.
Modi believes that India has everything for being a developed country like the right policies to support domestic production, defense, digital technology, etc.
It’s predicted that even if the country becomes the third largest economy by 2050 only after the US and China. Uncertainty will still prevail over the per capita income which is around $2,100 and it could still remain lower than many other countries.

Pledges for making India join the “Developed Nation Forces”
PM Modi said to make India a developed nation by 2047, all the citizens should take these five resolutions. These five resolutions which he also referred to as “Panch pran” during his speech. He said we have to concentrate all our energies and abilities on these five resolutions.
These are-
1) Uncompromised and Developed India
2)Removing any sense of coloniality even in small amounts from our minds
3)Love our country and be proud of its rich cultural heritage
4)Unity and no discrimination for achieving the “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”
5)Responsibilities and duties of citizens, which also include duties of the Prime Minister as well as Chief Minister.
We should pledge to fulfill the dreams for the country of our freedom fighters by 2047- the 100th year of independence.
He said that India faces two major challenges — corruption and ‘parivaarwaad’ or nepotism.
Emphasizing gender equality, he also urged its citizens to respect the women of their country. He made people remember the contributions and strength of the women of their country. Every Indian is filled with pride when they remember the strength of the women- be it Rani Laxmibai, Jhalkari Bai, Chennamma, Begum Hazrat Mahal, he said.
