Vishnu Vibhu Bhowmik, a jewelry shop owner in South Mumbai, called nine times on a landline number of the Reliance Foundation Hospital and threatened to kill Ambani.

 Mukesh Ambani, the Indian Billionaire Industrialist, received around nine calls from an unknown caller on 15th August 2022.
Right after the flag hoisting ceremony, the caller called on a landline number on the Reliance Foundation Hospital nine times and threatened to kill Mukesh and his family.
He called between 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
The caller, who is identified as Vishnu Vibhu Bhowmik, claimed himself as Afzal.
The hospital staff went to the police station and handed over the recordings to the officials. The police, with the necessary information, identified that the call was made from Dahisar, a modern suburb of Mumbai.
They then traced Vishnu’s number and arrested him from his house in Borivali West.
The first call that he made was at 10:39 a.m. He abused the person who called and then started giving life threats to Ambani and his family.
Vishnu is a jewelry shop owner. He is a 56-year-old and is originally from Tripura. He had been living in Mumbai for the past 26 years with his spouse and kids.
He has been booked under section 506-2, Punishment from Criminal Intimidation, of the Indian Penal Code.
Vishnu was produced before a holiday court on August 16, Tuesday. He is remanded in police custody for the next four days, till August 20.
It was later revealed that the accused is a mentally unstable person, who had been getting treatment for his mental condition since 2013. Therefore, it was concluded that he meant no harm when he threatened to kill Mukesh Ambani and his family, considering the accused’s mental condition.
