The story of the Indian Vaccine Export plan
The plan was to reach Covid-19 vaccines across Asia by the end of 2022, but a massive outbreak at the inventory itself led to a pause.
On this, Health Minister Mansukh Mandviya stated the vaccination of Indian citizens is the topmost priority.
The current slow pace of crisis made India’s plan resume under the ‘Vaccine Maitri’ programme, stated with the Indian traditional motto of “Vasudhavia Kutumbakam”.
As India Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla told the reporters, the programme’s current status is to make 8 million doses of the Jhonson & Jhonson vaccine until the ending of October.
The Quad would pay the cost of the event, and it would be an immediate delivery in the Indo-Pacific.
