On Wednesday, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hits north Japan and Massive power outages were also reported.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said
“4 people had died and the government would be on high alert for the possibility of further strong tremors over the next two to three days.”
More than 100 people were injured in the city of Soma, Fukushima, according to city officials reported by Japanese news outlet NHK World.
A tsunami warning for waves of up to a metre in parts of northeast Japan was lifted in the early hours of Thursday after authorities recorded water levels up to 30 cm higher than usual in some areas.
According to AFP, damage to buildings was minor and no abnormalities were reported at the Fukushima Daiichi and Daini nuclear plants.
The powerful quake brought back memories of the tsunami and a 9.0 earthquake 11 years ago that left thousands dead. The night-time tremors came just days after Japan marked the 11th anniversary of the massive earthquake that triggered a deadly tsunami and caused the Fukushima nuclear catastrophe.
Japan is prone to earthquakes as it is in a seismically active zone known as the “Ring of Fire.”
