Bharat FIH, a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology Group, has partnered with Ather Energy, a Bangalore-based smart two-wheeler, to design and manufacture crucial components for Ather scooters.
On Wednesday, Ather Energy, a two-wheeled electric scooter company, announced a partnership with Bharat FIH, a Foxconn Technology Group affiliate, to design and manufacture key components for its previous scooters.
The collaboration aims to improve the manufacturing system so that Ather Energy’s core products, the Ather 450X and 450 Plus, can satisfy increased demand.
Bharat FIH will supply a variety of production services as part of this agreement, including PCB assembly systems for battery management systems, dashboard integration, external control units, and driving control modules.
These products will be produced using an open-key model that involves the acquisition of goods for purchase as well as the procurement of immature goods for the electric car manufacturer (EV).
“The electric vehicle market continues to grow at an unprecedented rate, with high demand in all industries. As we continue to extend our global sales base, Ather Energy has also seen tremendous demand to satisfy the rising demand for its scooters.” Ather Energy said it was trying to tighten its supply chain. Tarun Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy, said in a statement.
“We are glad to partner with Bharat FIH in this area to provide us with the strength, supply chain strength, and processing competence to accomplish our capacity and expectations,” added Mehta.
According to the company, Bharat FIH has demonstrated excellent power in recent months, with a rapid rise, to satisfy the firm’s (Ather Energy) needs. Ather Energy’s power screens, the 450X and 450 Plus, continue to receive positive feedback.
Since last year, the company that is supported by Hero MotoCorp has grown a lot. Its monthly sales have gone up 20%, and it expects that trend to continue in the months to come, the company says.
Because electronics are such an important aspect of an intelligent electric vehicle, Bharat FIH Managing Director Josh Foulger said,
“We look forward to expanding our electrical production services and technical expertise across all Ather electric motorcycles.”
Ather Energy has sold over 26,000 e-scooters. According to the company, it has grown by 20% month over month in the last year. “We are really delighted and appreciative of our relationship with Ather Energy in supporting their electric car tour in India,” stated Josh Foulger, MD, Bharat FIH.
“We are looking forward to growing our electronic manufacturing services and technical knowledge throughout the supply chain of Ather electric scooters, as electronics are a vital aspect of a smart electric automobile.”
The electric vehicle manufacturer claims to have built a strong network of local suppliers, with nearly all traditional components being made and manufactured on-site.
In addition, in the long run, Ather Energy has announced an increase in output from 120,000 to 400,000 units per year at its Hosur facility, as well as the acquisition of additional land to expand production.
Ather intends to boost its annual production capacity to one million square feet, install 5,000 fast chargers across India, develop new goods, and expand its network to 600 retailers over the next three years.
The company currently operates 30 experience centres (retail outlets) across India.
