18-year-old Aarya Walvekar has been crowned Miss India USA in 2022 as a part of an annual pageant held in New Jersey. The first and second runners-up were won by Saumya and Sanjana Chekuri respectively.
The 40th year of Miss India USA celebrations was allured by 18-year-old Indian American Aarya Walvekar. The teen shared her desire to become an actor.
“It has been my childhood dream to see myself on the silver screen and work in films and TV,” she said.
Aarya took to her official Instagram handle and shared glimpses of the ceremony in which she won the title. She shared a series of photos and videos of the event held at Royal Albert’s Palace.
Aarya’s Life
A senior at Briar Woods High School in Virginia, the adolescent had spoken at an event on TEDx on the topic ‘Rethinking Healthy’. Thus, Aarya is a passionate advocate for Mental Health and Body Positivity Health at Every Size Movement. She has also developed other awareness initiatives until now and will continue to carry them further.
Furthermore, Aarya founded Euphoria Dance Studio as a way to teach dance to nearby kids at a reasonable price. She also took part in community and school theater along with volunteering as a director for regional children’s performances.
It was during a conversation about her hobbies that she mentioned that cooking and taking part in debates were two of her favorite things to do. Additionally, she would find it enlightening to travel and explore new places in order to keep her spirits high. It can be seen on her website that she is passionate about what she does. As well as practicing yoga, entertaining friends and family, and spending time with her younger sister, she is also involved in other activities.
Her statement on Instagram read, “The feelings I’m experiencing are indescribable. I have never been filled with this much gratitude in my life.”
With flowers covering her hands and the crown decorating her beauty, Aarya Walvekar’s happiness ruled the dais. She penned a note about the excitement and nervousness she experienced soon after her name was announced as the title winner.
A Duty
She captured the world’s attention by stating that the given title is more than about the crown. She considers it as her duty, a responsibility.
She also mentioned her feelings before entering the place with no expectations, but as she leaves the National Crown belongs to her. Aarya’s Precious pageant sisterhood leaves the floor with tons of gratitude she carried in her heart.

The Fashion World
The fashion world has welcomed her and embraced her love for trends and styles. Along with the 18-year-old, Saumya Sharma became the first runner-up. Saumya is a second-year premedical student at the University of Virginia, who has a keen interest in the world of fashion. The second runner-up was awarded to Sanjana Chekuri from New Jersey.
The Mega Event
The event to crown Miss India USA 2022 was conducted in New Jersey. This time the competitors comprised 74 pageants in total. Each represented 30 US states. The competition was for the titles Miss India USA, Mrs. India USA, and Miss Teen India USA.
Apart from the title winner Miss India USA 2022 by Aarya Walvekar, Tanvi Grover of New York was named Miss Teen India USA, while Akshi Jain of Washington was named Mrs. India USA.
