The suit states that the incident occurred in 1986 when Anthony Rapp met Kevin Spacey at a party at Spacey’s Manhattan apartment. Rapp was 14 and Spacey was 26 years old at that time.
The U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan said that there was a genuine factual dispute about whether the now 62 years old Spacey was engaged in forcibly touching Rapp’s ‘intimate parts’ to gratify his sexual desire.
Earlier, In October 2017, Anthony Rapp alleged that Spacey made a sexual advance toward him in an intoxicated state. In response, Kevin Spacey issued a statement stating that he does not remember such an incident and that he owes Mr. Rapp the sincerest apology if did behave then as he describes.
Later, in September 2020 Rapp sued Spacey for sexual abuse.
