The Sikhs and Hindus of Afghanistan have been granted E-Visas on priority by India because of the Kabul Gurdwara attack.
What happened at Kabul Gurdwara?
Three blasts slammed through a gurdwara in Kabul on Saturday, killing at least two people and injuring three security officers.
The bombings were confirmed by the Ministry of Interior, which stated that a gang of armed rebels invaded the gurdwara in the Kart-e-Parwan district.
“Before entering, the attacker attacked the security guards with a grenade, causing a fire, and two of our Hindu countrymen were evacuated and transported to hospital for treatment as they got injured,” the Ministry stated in a statement.
According to the statement, the rebels also exploded a car bomb before it arrived its intended target. Fortunately, they were unable to reach their intended target and instead exploded a car bomb before they arrived.
Indian government grants E-visas on priority for Afghan Sikhs and Hindus-
After a planned attack against the Sikh and Hindu communities in Kabul on Saturday, the Indian government granted e-visas more than 100 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus on a priority basis.
On Sunday, an Afghan Sikh from Kabul told a news agency, “We received e-visas from the Indian government last night. Our applications have been on hold for quite some time. Three members of our family are awaiting e-visas, which we hope to receive by Thursday. We will only travel to India if all members of our family have received visas, as we do not want to leave anyone behind. We will not go unless all visas are granted.”
“Grateful to PM Narendra Modi, and his team for considering and issuing visa to distressed Afghan, Hindus, and Sikhs at Kabul,” Indian World Forum President Puneet Singh Chandhok posted a tweet about the development of e-visas by the government of India
According to a news agency, ISIS claimed responsibility for the incident, claiming it was in response for insults directed at the Prophet Mohammed.
According to sources, the attack on Gurdwara Karte Parwan in Kabul’s Bagh-e Bala neighborhood lasted many hours and three attackers were slain by Taliban forces.
According to the BBC, the gurdwara was bombed early in the morning while up to 30 people were inside.
According to a spokeswoman for the Afghan Interior Ministry, the assailants blew a van loaded of explosives outside the gurdwara, but no one was hurt.
“First, the attackers tossed a hand grenade close to the gurdwara gate, causing a blast” an Interior Ministry spokesman told the Associated Press.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi criticized the “barbaric” terrorist act and expressed his concern for the worshippers’ safety and well-being.
The terrible terrorist attack on Kabul Karte Parwan Gurdwara has shocked me. PM Modi tweeted, “I condemn this “barbaric” attack and pray for the safety and well-being of the devotees.”
S Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs, also denounced the violence and stated that the government was closely monitoring the situation in the aftermath.

Saturday’s tragedy is the latest intentional attack on a minority communities house of worship in Afghanistan.
In March 2020, a highly armed suicide bomber assaulted Har Rai Sahib, a renowned gurdwara in the middle of Kabul, killing at least 25 worshippers and injuring eight more in one of the country’s bloodiest attacks against the minority Sikh population.
The terrorist group ISIS claimed responsibility for the incident at Shor Bazar.
