Kiran Kandolkar, the leader of the Goa Trinamool Congress, has stated that their political consultant I-PAC abandoned the party’s candidates after the state Assembly elections last week.
Mr. Kandolkar told reporters on Monday that he was not resigning as TMC’s Goa unit president but that he was unhappy with I-PAC head Prashant Kishor and his team.
For a long time, there has been talking of a divide between the Trinamool and the I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee), which aided Mamata Banerjee’s party during the West Bengal Assembly elections.
The Trinamool Congress and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party contested the Goa Assembly elections together (MGP). On February 14, voters went to the polls, and the votes will be counted on March 10.Â
Mr. Kiran Kandolkar ran for the Aldona Assembly seat, while his wife Kavita ran for the Trinamool Lok Sabha constituency of Thivim.Â
He alleged that most Trinamool candidates in Goa felt abandoned by the I-PAC after the elections. “The TMC’s candidates all have difficulties with the I-PAC in one way or another. When the candidates told me about their problems with Prashant Kishor and his I-PAC team, I discussed it with my TMC Goa workers, who asked me to resign, “he stated
“I am not resigning as TMC Goa chairman,” he remarked, “but I am upset with Prashant Kishor and the I-PAC team.”
He stated that all party candidates would meet on Tuesday to analyze the polling in their respective Assembly constituencies.
