Originally, on July 4, 1947, the Indian Independence bill was introduced in the British House of Command which was passed on fortnight. But finally, on 15 August 1947, India became a free country.
On Independence Day 2022, the Prime Minister of India Shree Narendra Modi will host our national flag at the Red fort situated in Old Delhi, he will also deliver a speech to our nation. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all the cultural programs and school events won’t hold. Every year,15 August is declared a national holiday.

15 August 2022/Indian Independence Day 2022, marks the 75 years of independence of India. And this diamond jubilee occasion rightly calls for a special event: ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.’It has had a series of socio-cultural events held across the nation honoring the history, culture, and achievements of the nation in general and freedom fighters in particular. This mega 75-week-long campaign is going to conclude on this independence day on August 15, 2022.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is the final part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. As the name suggests, the government wants the hearts, minds, houses, and social media DPs of every Indian. The campaign will last from August 2-15.
Here are some rules to be kept in mind while carrying the Tricolor:
- It should not be torn or dirty.
- Nothing should be written or printed on it.
- No other flag should be flown on an equal or higher height than the tricolor.
- Keep the color order in mind, Saffron on top, white in the middle, and green at the bottom.
- After hoisting, don’t pack it up or throw it, keep the flag at home, carefully.
