The telecom operators on Thursday warned the people of Pakistan to shut down their mobile and internet services amid the power blackout in Pakistan. The National Information Technology Board (NIBT) stated on Twitter that Telecom Operators in Pakistan have been alerted about shutting down mobile and internet services due to long hours of power crisis in Pakistan, as the disturbance is causing a lot of issues and obstruction in their operations.
Meanwhile, according to Geo News, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif alerted the country on Monday that they might face the risk of load shedding in July. He also further added that the people of Pakistan could also not get the required liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply but still the coalition government was trying to provide them with LNG.
Pakistan’s monthly fuel oil imports are also set to strike in June. Pakistan struggles to buy LNG for power generation despite the heat wave that is increasing the demand. Pakistan is facing a rise in the power crisis after it failed to accept a deal for natural gas supply.
The Government of Pakistan is striving to boost energy conservation, it has even cut the working hours of servants and has even informed the shopping malls factories to close early in various parts of cities even Karachi.
