Android users have reported the bizarre behaviour of the alarms set using google clock. They have raised complaints on the same through the Google Play store, causing the rating to fall significantly.
Complaints aren’t simply restricted to Pixel devices; other smartphone owners share the same issue, including- Oppo and One Plus. Users who use Spotify tunes or any third-party apps to set their alarm on Google clocks suffered the same as their alarms didn’t ring.
Since the Google clock is a default app in Pixel devices, the complaints are majorly from Pixel users as they started missing their alarms.
What’s the Fuss About?
For the first time, users cannot question their state of deep sleep as their alarms go unanswered, it is the clock that didn’t ring the alarm in the first place.
Uncertainty clouds the issue as the “why” of this occurrence remains uncleared. Android Authority suggests that when devices are in DND mode, this problem tends to make an appearance.
The latest clock update, v6.4, March 2021, can be one of the main reasons for the Google clock bug. Users have tried re-setting, clearing their storage/cache, restarting their phones, re-installing the app, making an attempt to ensure they do not miss their alarms again.
The clock does not seem to showcase the upcoming alarms as well. For some users, the alarms go unnoticed by vibration, and for some, alarms do no create a sound in the first place.” Yet, the issue remains unresolved.

The Fix is Underway!
Google understands how users heavily rely on their alarms as they run errands throughout the day and is working on fixing this issue.
Google acknowledged and stated, “We’ve shared this with our product and engineering teams and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
On an immediate basis, to resolve this issue temporarily, users can switch to various third-party alarm apps available on the play store.
Alarms have always been omnipresent in our lives since school. Be it the bell that begins our school or the one that indicates the end of the school day, alarms have always been there.
As the technology evolved and we relied on clocks of our smartphone than the manual that usually ran out of battery, at least in my case, technical issues tend to happen.
As the bug fix is underway, let’s switch to other available modes, not allowing this issue to impact our day to day working in severity.
