Today (September 21, 2021), the tech giant Apple rolled out the new software update, iOS 15, with tons of incredible features for iPhone users.
In June, Apple unveiled the software update at the Worldwide Developers Conference and set to release it for download from September 21. There are plenty of funky features that iOS 15 brings to iPhone users, overall optimising their device.Â
Here are some of the features an Apple iPhone user will enjoy with the latest update.
Key Features and Upgrades:
Time-Sensitive Notification and Much More
The novel update offers a new look for the notification, including contact photos for people, making it easier to identify.
The icons are more sizeable than before. Apple also rolled out a fantastic feature with notification that allows users to get them when they choose, morning or evening. Moreover, a summary will display according to the priority to quickly catch up with important notifications.Â
Tons of notifications can be bothersome sometimes, so if a thread appears to be less active will be suggested to mute it to avoid unnecessary clutter. Any app or messaging thread can be temporarily muted throughout the day or for few hours.Â
Understanding the importance of some notification, Apple offers ‘Time Sensitive notifications’ that delivers important notifications immediately with the help of new notification APIs.Â
Lively Emojis
One of the super cool features of the Apple iPhone, memoji, will have a new look with over 40 outfit choices to reflect one’s mood and style. It allows designing upper body language with cool outfits.
Moreover, particular features such as two different eye colours, new glasses, multi-coloured headwear representing the favourite sports team, and lively emoji stickers that wave hands will be offered.Â
‘Focus’ Allowing the User to Minimize Usage
The update allows users to synchronise their device with their mindset via Focus and declutter notifications based on their actions.
Setting up a Focus allows on-device intelligence to suggest apps and notifications from people the user is active. Besides, the Focus is customisable with an icon and name and automatically sets on other devices.
Similarly, a status appears when someone beyond the Focus tries to contact, allowing the other person to know not to interrupt. Even if someone’s status appears on, one can send an urgent message that breaks through Focus. However, this breakthrough is under the control of the user.Â
Find My Network Support for AirPods
The Find My network allows locating an approximate location of missing AirPods Pro or AirPods Max. Playing songs will help to locate the device within Bluetooth range. Moreover, the Find My network and Activation Lock can locate the device even after being erased.
The Hello screen will appear on-screen, reading that your device is locked, locatable and still yours; ensuring safety. The device is trackable for up to 24 hours, even after being turned off.Â
SharePlay for a Better Connection With Friends
The update offers an exciting feature to connect with your friends uniquely. SharePlay brings movies and TV shows into FaceTime calls, allowing users to watch the same content with their friends.
Besides, music, screen sharing into conversation on FaceTime, and dynamically responsive volume control automatically adjust audio so you can hear your friends even during a loud scene or climactic chorus are added.Â
Distinctive Safari LookÂ
The new Apple safari design puts the bottom tab under the user’s control and organises tabs accordingly. Further privacy protection, Intelligent Tracking Prevention, prevents trackers from profiling the user using an IP address.
The Safari can be personalised along with web extensions. One can install extensions through the App Store.
iCloud Private Relay
iCloud Private Relay is a service that allows the user to connect to virtually any network and browse with Safari, ensuring security and privacy. Moreover, it provides that the traffic leaving the device is encrypted so that it is unreadable.
Then all the requests are sent through two separate Internet relays. It’s designed smartly so that no one — including Apple — can use a user’s IP address, location and browsing activity to create a detailed profile.Â
Besides, the update offers HomeKit secure videos. iCloud will automatically store recordings in an end-to-end encrypted format so that only you and the people you choose can view them. However, none of the video footage counts against the user’s Apple iCloud storage — it’s part of a subscription.Â
Apple is set to offer much more than this, such as Live Text, which is completely interactive in all photos. Live Text is accessible in Photos, Quick Look and Safari, Screenshot, and in live previews with Camera.
Apple also introduced an upgraded Weather app in iOS 15. Users will be able to see graphical displays, full-screen maps and animated backgrounds.Â
