Atletico Madrid fans held the poster of ‘CR7 Not Welcome’ during a pre-season game. According to reports, Christiano Ronaldo is in chats with the Spanish club.
Atletico Madrid fans have expressed their disappointment over the news that Atletico is in chats with Cristiano Ronaldo. During Atletico’s pre-season game, some fans in the stand were seen holding the poster, expressing their dissatisfaction over the news circulating about Ronaldo’s potential arrival in the Spanish capital.Â
However, Atletico Madrid president Enrique said, “I’ve already said this several times, I don’t know who invented the Cristiano story, but I’ll tell you that it’s practically impossible that he comes to Atletico de Madrid,” as reported by Sky Sports.
Moreover, the Portuguese star name has been linked with several clubs. In the transfer market, Ronaldo’s planning to leave Manchester United is traveling a distance. Former Juventus star has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Atletico.Â
Reportedly, Cristiano Manager Jorge Mendes has been in talks with different clubs. A few weeks ago, the news was coming that Mendes has offered the service of United star to PSG. However, the French club denied the offer stating that Ronaldo would not fit into their squad, both strategically and financially. However, no official information has come from Cristiano.Â
Currently, the Manchester United star is on leave citing personal reasons. However, it looks like Ronaldo is not happy with Manchester United and looking to change his club for the season 2022-23. Also, last season United couldn’t finish in the top four. Hence, they failed to qualify for the champions league.
Considering this, Ronaldo would not want to play only in the Premier League as Former Real Madrid is considered Mr. champions league. It might be the cause he wants to change his club as the Champions League is a tournament where the Portuguese star has constantly performed. In addition, Ronaldo didn’t perform well with the English club as he only managed to score 24 goals in all competitions.Â
Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag has been clearing this news and earlier in a press conference, he said that We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season, and that’s it. I’m looking forward to working with him. Cristiano is not for sale. He is in our plans, and we want success together.
