The low-pressure area near the South Andaman Sea will strengthen into a cyclone known as “Asani”. The cyclone “Asani,” which is now cruising along Odisha’s coastline, will wreak havoc on a few districts in the state. It will bring moderate to heavy rain, particularly in Odisha’s coastal districts of Puri, Ganjam, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, and Khordha. Predicted Path and Gale speed The cyclonic storm is expected to stay over the Bay of Bengal Sea and travel parallel to Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. On May 9, the Bay of Bengal will experience gusts of 85 km/hr. On May 10, heavy rain of 7-11 cm is expected in two or three districts of Puri, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
