On Saturday, a number of Bhartiya Janta Youth Morcha (BJYM) workers staged a protest against comedian Munawar Faruqui’s show in Hyderabad. Just like there are rules of hoisting the flag, there are rules of disposing of it too. The Flag Code of India was amended last year and came into effect from 26 January 2022. According to the Flag code of India even a damaged flag should not be thrown away disrespectfully. It should be disposed of, wholly and with dignity. There are two ways one can dispose of the national flag. One of the ways is to burn the flag. There is a certain way to burn the flag, that is to fold the flag and then put the flag in the middle of the fire carefully. Any other way of burning the flag would come under punishable offense. Another way of disposing of your national flag is to bury it. One should put all the damaged flags in a wooden box which should be folded and well placed and then bury the box. Have a moment of silence after burying the box.

Large gatherings banned in Shivamogga after clash over Savarkar poster

A man was stabbed in Shivamogga district of Karnataka allegedly over a poster of V D Savarkar. The man pasted a poster of Savarkar and another man removed it and put-up Tipu Sultan’s poster.
