The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the coastal districts and an orange alert in eight districts of Karnataka, as heavy rainfall persisted in several parts of the state. IMD-Red Alert-Orange Alert Areas Coastal districts including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada were under a red alert from the IMD until Tuesday morning.
