The National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) stated that India reported an increase of 11 per cent in cybercrime in 2020. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) illuminated the Home Committee that according to the data of the NCRB, the Indian States and UTs reported 21796 cybercrime cases in 2017, 27428 cases in 2018, 44735 cases in 2019, and had risen to 50035 in 2020.
